Terms of Service
Last Updated: July 2, 2026
Welcome! These Terms explain how tutoring works with us — our services, scheduling, payments, and how we care for your family's privacy. Love Is Learning is the trade name of Learning with Megan Michelle, a personalized tutoring practice founded by Megan Michelle Charles, based in Hamilton County, Ohio. By booking and participating in sessions, you (the parent or legal guardian) agree to these Terms. Please read them through; we're glad to answer any questions before you begin.
1. Our Services
We provide personalized 1:1 online tutoring and educational coaching for students PreK–12. Every new family starts with a First-Step Session — a one-time, welcoming intro session where we connect, set goals, and get a light read on your child's learning needs so we can recommend the right plan. Ongoing programs include:
- 1:1 Academic Tutoring (PreK–6) — reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and English-language (ESOL) support.
- Literacy & Writing Development (6–12) — reading comprehension, writing, study skills, and secondary ESOL support.
- Executive Function / Metacognition Coaching (PreK–12) — planning, focus, organization, and self-directed learning strategies.
- AI Literacy (K–6) — a forthcoming premium offering (not yet bookable).
2. Session Length & Format
Sessions are offered in 30-minute and 45-minute lengths; 45 minutes is our standard. All sessions take place online in Lessonspace, a secure virtual classroom built for tutoring. Each student receives a private join link, delivered in the confirmation and reminder emails and accessible only to their family. Families are asked to provide a quiet, distraction-free space and to help younger children log in.
3. How Booking Works
Booking is personalized rather than open self-serve, so each plan fits the child:
- Start with a First-Step Session. Every new family begins here — it's the one thing you book to get started.
- Get a recommendation. Using what we learn in the First-Step Session and your intake responses, we suggest a program and frequency that fit your child.
- Receive your private booking link. We email you a private link for the option we recommend, so you don't have to navigate a full menu.
- Book and go. You purchase or subscribe through that link, and each booked session sends you a confirmation with the Lessonspace link and self-serve reschedule/cancel options.
All sessions are scheduled, rescheduled, and cancelled through Acuity Scheduling — not by email.
4. Plan Types
- Single Session (Pay-As-You-Go). Paid at the time of booking; each session purchased individually.
- Package (Prepaid Bundle). You prepay for a set number of sessions in one checkout, then redeem them at your convenience, at a discount compared to single sessions.
- Momentum Subscription (Ongoing Plan). Auto-billed on a recurring cycle, with a set number of sessions each cycle — our best per-session value.
5. Payments & Billing
Payments are processed securely through Acuity Scheduling with Stripe. We do not store your full card or bank details. Single sessions and packages are paid in full at the time of booking or purchase; Momentum subscriptions are billed automatically each cycle (see Section 7). Current pricing is published on our pricing sheet and may change with reasonable advance notice — price changes never affect sessions you have already purchased.
6. Packages
Packages are a one-time, prepaid purchase. Each booking uses one session from your package, and your booking link stays active for the life of the package.
- Foundations (5-session) packages expire 90 days from purchase.
- Stay-the-Course (10-session) packages expire 180 days from purchase.
Sessions not used before the expiration date are forfeited. Packages are non-refundable (see Section 8).
7. Momentum Subscriptions
Momentum subscriptions auto-bill on a recurring cycle — every 2 weeks or every 4 weeks, depending on the plan you choose. Each plan provides a set number of sessions per week: Weekly plans include one session per week, and Twice-Weekly plans include two, booked within that week. Unused weekly sessions reset — they do not roll over to a later week or cycle. Credits load immediately when you purchase or renew, so you can book right away. You may cancel anytime, self-serve, from your subscription emails or client account page; cancellation stops all future billing and takes effect at the end of your current paid cycle. A renewal reminder is emailed before each charge, and a receipt after.
8. Rescheduling, Cancellations & Refunds
24-hour policy. You may reschedule or cancel a session with more than 24 hours' notice, and that session is credited back to you. Sessions missed, cancelled, or changed with less than 24 hours' notice are forfeited (the session or credit is used). There is no separate cancellation fee.
If we must cancel. In the rare event we need to cancel a session (illness, emergency, outage), we'll notify you as soon as possible and either reschedule at no additional cost or restore the session credit in full.
Refunds. Except where required by law, fees for single sessions, packages, and subscriptions are non-refundable; the 24-hour policy above governs session credits. If we are unable to deliver a purchased session and cannot reschedule it, we will restore the credit or, at our discretion, issue a refund for that session.
9. Session Notes, Recordings & AI Tools
As a normal part of how we tutor, we use AI-powered tools for note-taking, transcription, and session summaries, and we may record sessions for instructional review. These help us capture learning highlights, track your child's progress, and send you clear, helpful updates — always for educational purposes only. By agreeing to these Terms, you give your consent for this.
- We share your child's notes, summaries, transcripts, and session recaps directly with you, the parent/guardian, by email — that's part of the service, and no extra permission is needed.
- Only the tutor has access to recordings and transcripts on our side, and recordings are deleted within 90 days.
- We will never use or share a recording, transcript, or your child's work beyond your family — publicly, in marketing, or as an example — without your separate, explicit, written permission.
See our Privacy Policy for how we collect, use, and retain this information.
10. Educational Use & Scope of Services
Our services are instructional and supportive in nature. Tutoring provides supplemental academic support and skill-building; it is not a replacement for school instruction or for specialized educational or therapy services. We are not a substitute for, and do not provide, medical, psychological, diagnostic, or special-education evaluation services. Any instructional observations we share are not clinical diagnoses; please consult appropriate licensed professionals for those needs. Families are asked not to include sensitive medical or diagnostic details in intake forms, session notes, or communications. Parents/guardians remain responsible for their child's school enrollment, attendance, and academic records.
11. Outcomes, Technology & Limitation of Liability
We can't promise specific results. We pour real care and evidence-based methods into every session, but we can't guarantee a specific grade, test score, placement, or pace of progress — those depend on many things beyond a tutoring session, such as attendance and practice between sessions.
Technology & online sessions. Sessions are delivered online through third-party platforms (e.g., Lessonspace, Acuity Scheduling). Technology can occasionally fail; we are not responsible for issues caused by your equipment, internet connection, or a third-party platform outage. In such cases, our remedy is limited to rescheduling the affected session.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the services is limited to the amount of fees you paid us for the package or the prior 30 days of services giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

13. Governing Law
We're based in Hamilton County, Ohio, and because tutoring happens online, we're glad to work with families wherever they are. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, and any dispute would be handled in the courts located in Hamilton County, Ohio.
